Lula Restaurant Distillery

Test Run

As you might imagine, there are so many details to consider when building a restaurant.  Often times we think we may have lost our marbles taking on this sort of endeavor but even now as the building is still a blank canvas we can’t imagine our lives without Lula.  We eat, sleep and breathe the details and have changed our wants and needs of what will make us stand out more often that we care to admit.  We’ve received countless questions from family, friends and strangers alike—questions ranging from where did you get the name to what kind of food will you serve.  The menu is not finalized yet; but, since the next best thing to eating food is talking about it, we’ll give you a snapshot...

Jess and Bear recently had the opportunity to test some food and cocktail concepts with a couple that has played an important role in the planning of Lula’s interior design and lighting.   The intimate dinner for 20 included a five-course dinner with complementary handcrafted cocktails. While these dishes and cocktails aren’t set in stone for Lula, this will give you an idea of what you might find on our menu and how our cocktails will be paired with our food:

First Course:
Lemongrass and Ginger Garlic Crusted Jumbo Shrimp
Cocktail:  Lemon Pepper Fizz

Second Course:
Fresh Seasonal Greens With Blood Orange Vinaigrette
Cocktail: Blood Orange Gin & Tonic

Third Course:
Seared Diver Scallops
Cocktail:  In Solido Mojito

Fourth Course:
Spiced Rum Lacquered Quail
Cocktail: Killer Bee

Fifth Course:
Molten Chocolate Cake and Nectar Sodas
Cocktails: Cherry Bounce, Banana Justino
