      <image:title>Lula's Story - Jess Bourgeois</image:title>
<image:caption>Owner/Operator Jess Bourgeois, a native of Donaldsonville, LA, became interested in cooking as a child watching his grandmother and mother in the kitchen. He then developed his cooking skills in high volume restaurant environments for more than 15 years. He started his restaurant career in Baton Rouge as a bus boy, waiter and bartender. After graduating from Louisiana State University with a B.S. degree in Food Science/Nutrition he earned an Associates Degree from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Academy in Austin, TX. He then moved to New Orleans to work in the kitchen at Commander’s Palace. Following Hurricane Katrina, Jess relocated to Birmingham, AL to work as an Executive Chef and General Manager of a high-volume privately owned restaurant group for nearly 10 years. Jess moved home to Louisiana in 2013 and began making plans for Lula.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Lula's Story - Bear Caffery</image:title>
<image:caption>Owner/Distiller Bear Caffery’s interest in Lula Restaurant-Distillery is born on his passion for distilling and brewing. Prior to the Lula concept, Bear’s brewing and distilling interests have been personal interests; however, he has obtained an extensive knowledge and hands on experience in both arenas. He has brewed multiple all grain beers and is well versed in the processes necessary to take Lula Spirits from raw ingredients to the bottle. Bear studied biology and chemistry at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. Prior to moving to New Zealand, he spent much of his spare time brewing. While in New Zealand, Bear discovered his allergy to gluten which pushed him away from brewing and put him on a path to honing his interest in the distillation process. By happenstance, New Zealand was the perfect place to do just that. In New Zealand, home distilling is legal and the perfect platform for learning how it’s done. A visit back to the states, a few cocktails later with Jess and mutual friends and the dream of making Lula a reality began to take shape.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Lula's Story - Ed Harris</image:title>
<image:caption>General Manager Ed Harris brings 20 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry to the Lula team. A native of the Greater New Orleans area, Ed began his career in the restaurant industry in 2004 working in the French Quarter. When Hurricane Katrina destroyed his home and uprooted his family in 2005, he moved to North Carolina and worked his way up the corporate chain at a hospitality group based in Raleigh. That group—which focused on a variety of unique concepts, including restaurants, catering and event venues—allowed Ed to gain extensive experience in several areas of restaurant and hospitality management including start-ups and general management until 2014. Ed moved back to Louisiana in 2014. He eventually returned to the restaurant industry where he worked for a privately owned high-volume restaurant group serving several roles during his tenure – from server and bar back to floor manager and off-site specialist. He joined Lula in 2021 as bar manager and is now serving as General Manager. Ed currently lives in Meraux, LA. When he’s not welcoming guests in his distinctive baritone voice or heaving tables overhead to accommodate large groups (among many other talents), he enjoys the Sportsman’s Paradise fishing and hunting; as well as cooking his catch or quarry for family and friends.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Lula's Story - Judy Allen</image:title>
<image:caption>Distiller Originally from Greenville, Michigan, Judy Allen became interested in mechanics and machinery while working in her family-owned hardware store. She moved to New Orleans in 2001 and began working as a bartender at locally owned restaurants and bars. She eventually landed at Lula in 2017. Since joining the Lula team, Judy has held numerous roles including server, bartender, bar manager and now lead distiller. Her interests in craft cocktails and batch cocktails were sparked when she joined the Lula bar team. In 2020, when the distiller position became available, Judy took advantage of the opportunity to connect her mechanics and machinery knowledge with her interests in craft cocktails to learn the ins and outs of running the distillery. Since then, Judy has been key in making critical improvements to Lula’s processes including fine tuning Lula’s cold filtration system and implementing fermentation data tracking. She has worked to expand and improve upon Lula’s product line including developing Lula’s aged rum and whiskey blends and even pivoted into hand sanitizer production during the covid pandemic.</image:caption>
